Annette Marta Johns

Annette M. Johns 95 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday February 19, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Anette was born July 6, 1927 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Ray and Lydia (Bersell) Swanson. She retired as a social worker for Catholic Family Services and helped to set up Voluntary Action Agency in Kalamazoo as a member of Service Club. Annette was a member of Haven Church and was very active in discipleship and mentoring. On August 29, 1949 in Bay City, MI Annette was united in marriage to H. Richard Johns who preceded her in death on July 17, 1981. Also preceding her in death are four sisters, Anita Gish, Jeanne Watkins, Marjorie Miller, Vivian Scott. Surviving are a son, Joel (Kathy) Johns, daughter, Janay (Ed) Turner; two granddaughters, Kalen, Joanne; three great-grandchildren, Karissa, Danielle, Jerrod; six great-great-grandchildren, Brinley, Kora, Braxton, Kingsley, Brolan, Brook; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received Noon to 1 pm Wednesday March 1st, 2023 at Haven Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Where services will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in East Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Church. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
