Duncan J. Wisser, Sr. of Kalamazoo passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Laurels of Galesburg. Duncan was born July 28, 1928 in Mikado, MI the son of Fred and Margaret (McDonald) Wisser. He retired from James River Paper Co. in 1988 as Plant Superintendent. Duncan was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, camping and the Detroit Tigers. On August 21, 1946 in Kalamazoo Duncan was united in marriage to the former Marjorie Tidey who preceded him in death on August 25, 2004. Also preceding him in death were two sons, John and Donald Wisser; daughter Marjorie Morren; grandson, Justin Bailey, and nine siblings. Surviving are 11 children, James (Marva) Wisser, Margaret (Charles) Hampton, Catherine (Marvin) DeVisser, Patricia (James) Joslin, Thomas (Fran) Wisser, Cynthia Hermida, Sandra (Norman) Bailey, Duncan (Kelley Smith) Wisser, Jr., Stephen (Julie) Wisser, Daniel Wisser, and Walter (Kelly) Wisser; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday March 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kalamazoo. A private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
