William (Bill) Krueger passed away suddenly on March 8, 2017. Bill was born in Waseca, MN, February 14, 1933, the son of Christian and Gladys (Bauman) Krueger. Bill served in Military Intelligence in Germany in the United States Army before earning his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota. He moved his family to Kalamazoo in 1966 to start his career at Upjohn as a Pharmaceutical Research Scientist, eventually retiring from Pharmacia. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Allen Krueger, two sisters, Bethel Perkins and Allyne Stewart. Bill is survived by two sons, Blake (Mary) Krueger of Grand Rapids, Brian (Jean) Krueger of Portage, four grandchildren, Jamie (Robert) Van Haren, David (fiancé Ashley) Krueger, Kyle (Stephanie) Krueger and Lauren Krueger, a step grandson Nick Haverkamp, two great grandchildren, Adrian and Quinn Van Haren and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a lifelong learner who at the age of 81 took up microbiology and continued a keen interest in all things science. Bill was one of the most caring and generous men anyone ever knew. He was an advocate and supporter of those less-fortunate. People loved him for his quick wit and sense of humor.
