Joseph “Joe” Oliver Pike of Kalamazoo passed away Friday, February 03, 2017 at Rose Arbor. Joe was born on August 23, 1942 in Kalamazoo to Raymond Pike Sr. & Mildred “Millie” (Switzer) Pike. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, graduated from St. Augustine High School and served in the United States Navy for over thirty years and was active in Vietnam & Gulf Wars. After the service he worked in home remodeling and construction. He rescued and loved cats, and he enjoyed classical music. Surviving are five brothers, Ralph (Nancy) Pike of Kalamazoo, Donald (Jackie) Pike of Portage, Charles Pike of Kalamazoo, Phillip (Lynne) Pike of Portage, Jim (Kathe) Pike of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Mary Stewart of Kalamazoo, Judi Pike of Billings, MT, Catherine (Simon) Jones of Paw Paw, one uncle, Fred (Beverly) Pike of Sun City, FL, 24 nieces & nephews and 38 great-nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Pike Jr. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am, Tuesday, February 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kalamazoo. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
