Ruth M. Black of Vicksburg Passed away peacefully December 31 at Borgess Medical Center. Ruth was born in Kalamazoo on November 14, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Idabelle (Cleaver) Councell. She was a member of Parchment United Methodist Church. Ruth was a homemaker, who enjoyed knitting and spending time with family. Her warm presence and welcoming smile will be dearly missed and her legacy of making a house into a loving home will forever be remembered by the ones she loved. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley G. Black, her brothers: Wesley Councell of Kalamazoo, and Raymond Councell of Mena Arkansas, Her sisters: Helen Thiessen of Washington State and Dorothy Cavender of Denver Colorado. She is survived by her daughters: Terry (Delbert) Burr of Vicksburg, and Linda Fay of Delton. Ruth has 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home Friday January 6, from 10am until 11am. Funeral services will begin 11am. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
