John Arthur McKeown

John A. McKeown of Kalamazoo passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at home. John was born October 9, 1937 in Battle Creek the son of Myles and Elva (Carlind) McKeown. He was a graduate of Kellogg High School and was employed for 42 years at James River Paper Co. then for 20 years at Welsaw. on August 17, 1957 in Galesburg John was united in marriage to the former Phyllis L. Brown who survives. Also surviving are three sons, John McKeown of Kalamazoo, Michael McKeown of Parchment, Robert (Tammy) McKeown of Ringgold, GA; daughter, Cynthia McKeown of Kalamazoo; sister, Martha Blake of Anchorage, AK; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Michael, & William; sister, Elizabeth Ellison. Friends are being received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East "G" Ave. Parchment, MI 49004 (269) 349-7735 where services will be held 1:30 pm Thursday.
