Robert L. King of Cooper Township, passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. Robert was born March 25, 1946 in Kalamazoo the son of Robert and Irene (Nash) King. With his Dad as his ScoutMaster he loved Boy Scouts. Growing up, Bob had a paper route with his brother Steve in the Winchell area and they played basketball on the Baptist Youth Fellowship Church league. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School and joined the US Marine Corp from which he was honorably discharged. He was a proud member of Kalamazoo Township Police Dept. as a Reserve Officer, as well as a long term member of the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club. He worked for DeNooyer's Chevrolet for almost 20 years while having a small business called Bob's Discount Guns & Police Supply. After leaving DeNooyer's he expanded his business and changed the name to Shooter's Choice from which he retired in December of 2008. He was a Family Man..Wheeler Dealer.. Avid Collector.. Hunter..Grill Master..Car Buff.. Animated..BS Artist. Bob loved his cabin, up North at Blue Lake, Kalkaska & enjoyed many wonderful family times there. He was united in marriage to Judy (VanKesteren) Randall who survives, also surviving are three sons, Robert (Tonya) King; Chad King of Kalamazoo, Keith Randall of Decatur. One daughter, Kim (Clair) Carr of Paw Paw. Brother, Stephen (Cathy) King of Galesburg. Brother In-Law, Wayne (Jennifer) VanKesteren. Favorite Sister, Cindy (Sid) Bradford of Vicksburg. 10 grandchildren, Nate, Carson, Macy, Charlie, Kylee King; Tyler (Hailey), Tabatha, Tatum Pullano; Justin, Kaleb Randall. Two aunts, Margaret and Jacque. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A very special friend, Todd Pullano; Best friends Pastor Bob & Nona Mathews. Beloved dog Zayla. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon at the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club. Interment will be held at a later date.
