Ursula Barrett

Ursula Barrett of Kalamazoo passed away Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at home. Ursula was born March 3, 1940 the daughter of Heinz and Wilma (Prott) Schmidt in Bremerhaven, Germany where she met and married Michael T. Barrett. After living in Annapolis, MD, Florida, Japan and Guam, the family settled down in Kalamazoo. She worked several years at Gilmores Dept. Store and for 26 years at WMU. She is survived by son, Daniel Barrett; daughter Susanne (Rodney) Porter; three grandchildren, Christopher Barrett, Kaleb (Ruth) Porter, Helayna Barrett; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Barrett, Jr. and Clara Porter; sister, Marianne Haupt.
