Craig N. Barber

Craig N. Barber of Portage passed away Tuesday February 16, 2016 at home. Craig was born May 13, 1952 in Kalamazoo the son of Maynard and Dorothy (Fuller) Barber. He was a 1971 graduate of Portage Central High School. Craig was employed at General Motors, he was also a truck driver for Bentler, then retired from the custodial department at Portage Public Schools. He enjoyed model airplanes, fishing, vegetable gardening, fixing cars, and drag racing. He was an amazing artist and very talented with drawing. He also loved animals and enjoyed caring for them and rehabilitating them back to health. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Arieyeh) Austin of Birmingham, AL, Kraigen (Erick) Hegelmann of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Sophia, Naomi, Aiden, Ethan; brother, Chris (Becky) Barber of Portage; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Toby Barber. Friends will be received Saturday February 27 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S.
