Kenneth Roland Reed

Kenneth R. Reed of Vicksburg passed away suddenly Friday February 5, 2016 at home. Ken was born September 4, 1946 in Kalamazoo the son of Sylvanus and Maxine (Gile) Reed. He retired from Durametallic and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, mushroom hunting and karaoke. On March 11, 1975 in Houston, TX Ken was united in marriage to the former Cathy L. Puryear who survives, also surviving are his children; Tammy (Scott) Coates of Schoolcraft, Michelle (Doug) Daniels of Portage; Kenny (Melissa Sherman) Reed of Kalamazoo, Matt (Callie) Reed of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren, Casey Coates, Taylor Coates, Mandi Daniels, AJ Daniels, Jaden Reed, Carter Reed, Aubrielle Reed, Camlyn Reed, and Eliza Reed; seven brothers, Sylvanus “Skip” (Pat) Reed of Scotts, Jim (the late Dori) Reed of Wyoming, Ron (Sue) Sage of Three Rivers, Bruce (Sheryle) Sage of Vicksburg, Wayne (Marcia) Sage of Mattawan, Terry (Laurie Haner) Sage of Kalamazoo, Kevin (Myong) Sage of Portage; sister, Sandra (Lisa Wilkinson) Griffin of Kalamazoo; father, Leighton Sage of Kalamazoo and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Roger Reed and an infant Reed. Friends are being received Friday, February 12, 2016 from Noon to 2 pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 where services be held at 2 pm. Interment will be in Vicksburg Cemetery.
