Joseph Allan Laske

Joseph A. Laske of Kalamazoo, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. Joseph was born December 4, 1948 in Detroit, the son of Steven and Marguerite (Nicolai) Laske. Joseph retired after 30 years in the tool & die dept at General Motors. He enjoyed fixing things for other people even if it meant putting off his own things, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On March 27, 1970 in Hillsdale Joseph was united in marriage to the former Sandra Smith who survives. Also surviving is a son, Nick (Stacy) Laske; daughter, Sara (John) Lehrer; five grandchildren, Jordan, Nicholas Lehrer, Matthew, Jeffrey, Tyler Laske; special grandchildren, John and Mikaila; five brothers, Steve (Mary Lou) Laske, Larry (Nancy) Laske, Jim (Char) Laske, Phil (Cathy) Laske, Mike (Veronica) Laske; two sisters, Vickie (Henry) Trent, Michelle (Eric) Garland; sister-in-law, Mary Laske; brother-in-law, Bob DeYoung; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parants; a brother, Tom Laske; sister, Kathy DeYoung. Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
