Joan L. Powell

Joan L. Powell of Scotts passed away Monday November 9, 2015 at home. Joan was born August 13, 1934 in Parchment the daughter of Harold and Rose (Rowe) Ringler. She retired from Sears after 30 years and enjoyed bowling, visiting the casino’s and preparing nice meals for her family. On August 23, 1952 in Kalamazoo Joan was united in marriage to Thomas L. Powell, Sr. who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Tom (Teresa) Powell of Colorado Springs, Co, Jim (Laurie) Powell of Kalamazoo, Mike (Marie) Powell of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Justin, Austin, Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Baylee and Blake; two brothers, Jim (Sandy) Ringler of Shelbyville, Terry Ringler of Burr Oak; sister, Jackie Hunt of Vicksburg. She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Barb Kuilema, brother-in-law, Doug Hunt; sister-in-law, Candy Ringler. Private family services were held at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
