Corinne R. McKenzie

On October 17, 2015, the Lord took our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Corrine McKenzie-Brockington. Corrine was born September 8, 1971 in Kalamazoo. She was the oldest child born to John W. McKenzie, Sr. and Lanetta Hellens-McKenzie-Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her mother, and brother Grant Eric McKenzie. Corinne grew up in the Covert-South Haven-Kalamazoo areas but temporarily located to Long Beach, CA where she met her husband, Kendrick. Corinne suffered many health challenges but they never got in the way of her being a good, loving and kind person. She had a strong religious background and was a member of Faith Temple Church of God. She was an inspiration to many and was loved by all who came in contact with her. She was a magnificent person who will be greatly missed by all. Corinne leaves behind to cherish her memory husband, Kendrick Brockington; two sons, Ontrell Cortez, Giambi Brockington; two daughters, Monya McKenzie, Hailey Brockington; father, John W. McKenzie, Sr.; granddaughter, Gisselle Adriana Gardner-McKenzie; brother, John W. “JJ” McKenzie, Jr; nephew, Brandon Dawson and Godmother Diane Watson. She leaves behind an abundance of family members to include aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins along with a whole host of friends. Friends will be received 11am - 12pm Friday October 30, 2015 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156.
