Abbey Lenae Nyberg

Passed away Saturday September 26, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Abbey was born November 1, 1992 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Robert and Stacie (Piazza) Nyberg. She was a 2010 Graduate of Parchment High School where she was active on the Basketball team, she was in her senior year at Western Michigan University and was a server at Mission Pointe Restaurant in Richland, and she loved watching Brady play baseball. Abbey is survived by her father and step-mother, Robert (Dawn) Nyberg of Kalamazoo; mother and step-father, Stacie (Gerald) Cook of Kalamazoo; fiancé, Brady VanderWeele, his parents, Mark and Kim and sister, Bailey of Kalamazoo; sister, Erica(Joshua Valenzuela) Nyberg of Kalamazoo; paternal grandmother, Barbara Little of Kalamazoo; maternal grandparents, Ramon and Naomi “Ruth” Piazza of Kalamazoo; four step-brothers, Justin (Kim) Wanamaker of Kalamazoo, Kyle (Amber) Wanamaker of Martin, Nathan (Alyssa Jacoboni) Wanamaker of Kalamazoo, Evan (Kelsy Nelson) Wanamaker of Kalamazoo; step-sister, Brittany (Tyler) Town of Plainwell; niece, Madison Grace; nephews, Kaleb and Hallen; aunts and uncles, Gary and Trish Nyberg of Otsego, John and Patty Nyberg of Plainwell, Kevin and Cheryl Nyberg, Elena (Bruce) Wood of Kalamazoo; 10 step-nieces & nephews; special cousins, Cassandra Piazza and Rowan Lee Piazza of Kalamazoo, Emily and Sheridan Wood of Kalamazoo and Josh and Jessica Nyberg of Plainwell, Samantha Jo Nyberg of Hastings. Memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Memorial contributions may be made to Kryn Brand Scholarship fund at Parchment High School or Cancer Families United. Flowers may be delivered Friday at the funeral home.
