Robert Anthony Powers

Robert A. Powers of Kalamazoo, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at home. Robert was born September 1, 1929 in Chicago, IL the son of Anthony and Frances (Weiler) Powers. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II & Korea where he received 2 Bronze Service Stars. Robert retired as a computer programmer consultant. On Aug. 7, 1952 in Kansas City, MO Robert was united in marriage to the former Dolores (Stilwell) who preceded him in death on Jan. 21. 2005. Surviving are three sons, Terence (Carolyn) Powers of Farmington Hills, Robert Powers, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Brian Powers of Kalamazoo; daughter, Pamela (Michael) Early of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Conor (Liane) Early, Katie Early, Patrick Powers, Matthew Powers; one great-grandson, August Early; two sisters, Murrie (Bud) Donovan of Green Bay, WI, Toni Collins of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law, Marianne Powers; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Riley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terrence and Richard Powers. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
