Patricia "Pat" Smith

Patricia "Pat" Smith passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at home. Pat was born August 9, 1941 in Yonkers, NY the daughter of John & Mary (Dumchak) Wineski. She was a devoted daughter of God and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She belonged to several of their faith based organizations including the Just Faith Group, Grief Share Ministry, and St. Vincent Ministry. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Robert DeVanzo in 1981. She was also preceded by her daughter Suzanne Martinez DeVanzo and granddaughter Amanda Marie Martinez. Pat is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Mary) DeVanzo of White Marsh, MD, David (Joyce) DeVanzo of Bristol, PA, Karen (Ray) Acri of Galesburg, MI, and Steven Smith of Pikeville, KY; brother, John (Patricia) Wineski of Mahopac, NY; sister, Karen (Paul) Basso of Smyrna, DE; Seven grandchildren: Timothy, Elizabeth, Christina, Michael, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Emily; three great-grandchildren: Rowan, Riley, and Ayla; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 19 at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Kalamazoo, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Rev. Fr. John Doris, celebrant.
