James Gordon Murray, DDS

James Gordon Murray, DDS. Jim was born Sept 25, 1930 and died Feb 19, 2015. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to Leonard and Olive Murray. He is survived by his wife of 34 years. Nancy, sons: Dr. Michael (Candi) Murray, Kevin (Huddie) Murray, James Murray, Brian Murray and daughter Kathy (Tom) Romine. Also surviving are 4 step-children, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; Sherrill Sherman, Kenneth Reidy, Elizabeth Reidy and David (Sarah) Reidy: His only brother, Dr. Joseph (Bev) Murray, a nephew, a niece and by the mother of his children; Leota Murray. Jim graduated from Northwestern University and Loyola University School of Dentistry. He was a member of Delta Sigma Delta fraternity. He is a veteran of the Korean War having served as a Captain in the US Air Force. Jim was a former member of the Gull Lake Country Club, Kalamazoo Country Club, Venice Golf and Country Club, and Caloosa Country Club. He practiced dentistry in Kalamazoo for 38 years. His friends became his patients and his patients became his friends. He loved them all. He was a life member of the Kalamazoo Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. Upon retirement Jim and Nancy resided in Venice, FL for 18 years where he continued his love of golf, then in Sun City Center, FL. Jim attended St. Monica Catholic Church then Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center. Jim is greatly missed by his family, friends and his many golf buddies. Friends will be received Thursday April 16 from 5 until 8 at the Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be Celebrated at St. Monica Church in Kalamazoo, Friday April 17 at 10:30am. Rev. Fr.
