Mary Emma Lewis

Mary Emma Lewis of Bloomingdale, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Meadow Woods Nursing Home in Bloomingdale. Mary was born in Kalamazoo, on February 20, 1921 the daughter of Leo and Emma (Noteboom) Hammill. She worked as a machine operator in the paper manufacturing industry. Mary was united in marriage to Donald Lewis on October 19, 1946 in Kalamazoo, who proceeded her in death on August 8, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her son, Allen Lewis and brother, Frank Hammill. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Kathleen Lewis of Paw Paw; brother, Norbert (Mary) Hammill of Florida; sister Jane Kavanaugh of Parchment; sister-in-law Margaret Hammill of Portage; granddaughters Kimberly & Heather; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Makayla, Hunter, Samantha, and Jessica; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine Cathedral, Kalamazoo, on February 23, at 10 AM, Rev. Msgr. Thomas Martin, celebrant. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
