Frances Tice (Locker)

Passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Tendercare of Portage, Michigan. Frances was born June 29, 1927 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Percival & Ida (Jewel) Willis. She liked to spend her time crocheting and playing cards. She loved to bowl and participated in several bowling leagues. Frances was the former owner of The Sportsman Center. She was a member of the Ravine Road Baptist Church. She was first married to Phillip Locker on April 1, 1947 and the two spent the next 41 years together until Phillip’s passing in 1988. Frances later remarried to Elza Tice on May 13, 1989 who passed away in early 2014. She is also preceded in death by her son, Paul Locker; and two brothers, Howard and Samuel Willis. She is survived by her children, Phillip (Janice) Locker of Anchorage, AK, Patti (Steven) Pierman of Portage, Chris Locker of Mound, MN, Mark (Sue) Locker of Richland; Sister, Nellie (Robert) Reist of Kalamazoo; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday, February 16 at noon at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Kalamazoo MI 49008 (269)343-6156, where a memorial service will be held the same day at 1 PM.
