Kathleen Thorn quietly and peacefully passed away at Kairos Dwelling on February 12, 2015. She and her husband, John Earl, met and married in Chicago, moved to Michigan, and built their dream home on Fair Lake where they raised their children and grandchildren. Kathy was a woman of strong convictions and not afraid to speak her mind. As we all know she was as feisty as they come. She loved to cook, bake, and entertain friends and family at any opportunity. She loved a house full of people. Her door was always open. You were never a stranger in her home, and you never left hungry. She loved to dance, hunt mushrooms, a good game of dice or cards, and of course an occasional trip to the casino. She fiercely supported and defended her loved ones. She leaves a big hole in our hearts, but was ready to be reunited with Earl and other members of the family who were awaiting her arrival in heaven. She leaves behind a son, Butch Thorn; a granddaughter, Amy VanCamp; a grandson, Greg Thorn; and many friends that are considered family. In accordance with her frugal nature, it was Kathy’s wish that we sit, relax, and perhaps share a memory of her in lieu of a funeral. Please join her kids at Tujax Tavern, 103 South Grove Street Delton MI 49046, on Sunday February 15, 2015 at 1 PM to toast Kathleen. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S.
