Floyd Irwin Compton

December 3, 1934 — February 7, 2015

Passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice surrounded by his family. Floyd was born December 3, 1934 in Bloomingdale the son of Carl and Evelyn (Stoughton) Compton. He was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He was employed for Eaton Mfg. then retired from Allied Paper Co. Floyd enjoyed Gold Wing Motorcycles, and traveling to Colorado and a car enthusiast. On April 19, 2014 in Kalamazoo, Floyd was united in marriage to the former Jill (Pelton-Morton) who survives. Also surviving are ten stepchildren: Kelley (Darryl) Brown of Otsego, Carleen Steppenwolf of Augusta, Orin Morgan of Kalamazoo, Michael (Sandy) Morgan of Kalamazoo, Rodney (Julie) Morgan of Kalamazoo, Diane Beardsle of Dowagiac, Jim (Anna) Stokes of Texas, Ken (Lavonda) Stokes of Dowagiac, Linda Heslet of Texas, Joan (Michael) Ridenour of Scotts; two brothers, Ron (Rosemary) Compton of Decatur, Jim (Isabelle) Compton of California; two sisters, Mildred (Ben) Ritsma of Paw Paw, Elsie (Lloyd) Hose of Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 5-7 pm Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Redmond Funeral Home, where services will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday, Pastor Jeff McVay officiating. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
