Edwin Anthony Trenkle

Passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Edwin was born May 18, 1920 in Bloomington, IL the son of Fred and Agnes (Sheehan) Trenkle. He was a graduate of Northwestern University and was a Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan and Florida. Edwin was the former President and CEO of Miller Davis Company. He was a member of St. Monica’s Church, Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce, President in 1976 and 1977 Michigan Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America, President 1962 Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo, President Community Chest of Kalamazoo (United Way), Board member and Officer of various social work organizations in Kalamazoo, Board member and officer of Kalamazoo Country Club 1976 to 1978, Board member and officer of Kalamazoo Park Club. On September 15, 1945 in Chillicothe, MO Edwin was united in marriage to the former Mary F. Ormsby who preceded him in death on January 28, 2014. Surviving are a son, Thomas (Su Festen) Trenkle of Burlington, IL; three daughters, Ann (Patrick) Reddy of Lincoln, AL, Susan Trenkle of Tampa, FL, Barbara (Richard) McQuigg of Grand Rapids; sister, Martha Lee of Elmhurst, IL; four grandchildren; 2 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred; three sisters, Geraldine, Mary and Beatrice. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Monica Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South West Michigan.
