Stella Dzialowski of Kalamazoo, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Laurels of Galesburg. Stella was born May 10, 1912 in Poland, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Matecki) Dzialowski. She came to America when she was 2 years old on the sister ship to the Titanic. She retired as a Sales Rep from Globe Casket and then from Brown Paper Co. Stella was a well known china painter and teacher for over fifty years. She was a member of the Michiana Porcelain Club. She loved gardening in her flowers. She was one of the first members of St. Michaels which later became St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Irene Smiertka of Kalamazoo, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Jennie Jancasz; brother, Henry and two infant brothers. Friends will be received Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, from 5-8 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Fr. Bart Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
