Loretta V. Kean of Kalamazoo, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Borgess Spiritual Gardens. Loretta was born August 25, 1915 in Dowagiac the daughter of Lyle and Marie (Smith) Loehr. She was united in marriage to Robert N. Kean who preceded her in death. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the VFW Red Arrow Post. She loved her family and lived for her grandchildren. She also loved dancing, chocolate, motorcyles, sunshine and the outdoors. She is survived by a son Bernie (Mary) Kean of Georgia; two daughters-in-law, Peggy Kean of Schoolcraft and Sheri Wells of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Pete, Brigid, Katie, Betsy, Patrick and Matthew; 10 great-grandchildren; nephew, Mickey Stoops; niece, Dee Williams. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and Tom Kean; grandson, Brett Kean; two sisters, Florence and Veila. Friends will be received for visitation Wednesday 6-8 pm and Thursday 1-2 pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156, where services will be held Thursday 2 pm with Jeanne Kicks, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
