Allen Joseph Lewis

Passed away at home Monday, November 24, 2014. Allen was born September 20, 1947 in Kalamazoo the son of Donald & Mary (Hammill) Lewis. After high school, he attended Western Michigan University where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Allen served in the Military Police Corps in the U. S. Army after college and was honorably discharged in 1972. He received his Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School, went on to practice law in Paw Paw, and was a member of the Van Buren Bar Association. Allen is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Kathy Lewis. Also surviving are daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Trumbull of Paw Paw and Heather (Lawrence) Stately of Paw Paw; cousin, Steve (Virginia) Datema of Battle Creek; Grandchildren, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Makayla, & Hunter Trumbull and Samantha & Jessica Stately. A special thank you to Lynne McGuire from Bistro 120 for all she did during Al's battle with the cancer. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 30 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo MI 49008 (269)343-6156, with a rosary at 7 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Paw Paw on Monday, December 1 at 11 AM, Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
