James Lemmen of Vicksburg, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers. James was born November 14, 1929 in Holland, MI the son of Arthur and Joanna (VanDenBosch) Lemmen. He retired as a pastor serving several area churches including New Hope Baptist Church in Allegan and was employed for over 50 years at the former Vogelzang Hardware Store in Holland. James was united in marriage to the former LouEllyn Holkeboer who preceded him in death in 1998. After her death James was united in marriage to the former Barbara VanDenburg who survives. Also surviving are three sons, James (Angela) Lemmen of Coldwater, Davidpaul (Sheila) Lemmen of Ada, Dennis (Madonna) Lemmen of Lancaster, OH; four daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Jacobs of Lapeer, Susan (Jack) White of Casa Grande, AZ, Joanna (Russell) Utley of Alma, Barbara (Randy) Cook of Texas; two step sons, Andy (Marie) Engler of Schoolcraft, Dan Engler of Kalamazoo; step dauther, Linda Granada of Prairie Grove, AR; two brothers, Bernard Lemmen, Arie Lemmen; six sisters, Rena (Leon) Dubbink, Betty (Jack) Kroeze, Pearl (Dave) Barnett, Arlene (Ken) Herweyer, Janet VanDussen, Ruth Calmbaugh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Lemmen. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan, MI, with a luncheon to follow at New Hope Baptist Church, 2011 Lincoln Rd Allegan, MI 49010.
