Jennie Kot

Passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Jennie was a resident of The Fountains at Bronson Place in Kalamazoo. She was born April 18, 1927, the daughter of John and Mary (Snell) Hasiec. She grew up on the family farm with three sisters and graduated from Mattawan High School. Jennie was a tour guide for The Upjohn Company for over 36 years. Jennie was a golf enthusiast and took special pride in her ethnic heritage particularly during the Easter and Christmas seasons. On April 17, 1948, Jennie was united in marriage to Bernard M. Kot who preceded her in death on March 22, 2013; also preceded by two sisters Mary Koprolces and Helen Hasiec. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Bednarz, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, October 16 from 4-8 pm at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East “G” Ave. Parchment MI 49004, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 17 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 939 Charlotte Ave. Kalamazoo MI 49048 , with Rev. Fr. David Grondz, celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the Kalamazoo Humane Society. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
