James S. Howie

James S. Howie of Kalamazoo, passed away, on September 5th, 2014, at Woodside Health Center of Kalamazoo. James was born on November 25th, 1926 in Dundee, Scotland the son of James and Janet (Hutchinson) Howie. He was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, watching football, and vacationing in Florida every year. Jim was a wonderful husband, loving father, fun grandpa, and a great friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nessie Arbuckle of Canada, and his wife Suzanne. Jim and Suzanne were married on August 23rd, 1952 and enjoyed a wonderful life together for 59 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle (James) Clark of Plainwell, and Ashley Howie of Waterford Michigan, two grandchildren, a brother Ian Howie of Ontario Canada, and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and always in our memories. Mass of Christian burial was conducted at St. Mary Catholic Church and burial took place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
