Ruth Irene Boot

Ruth I. Boot of Kalamazoo, passed away Monday June 30, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Ruth was born Dec. 12, 1933 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Paul and Helen (Swisher) Randall. She received her bachelor’s degree from WMU in 1956 and was a teacher for Kalamazoo Public Schools; she was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, sewing and the Detroit Tigers. On June 22, 1963 in Kalamazoo Ruth was united in marriage to Jack N. Boot who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Lisa (Chuck) Dolley of Lake City, Stephanie (Eugene) Vasquez of Kalamazoo; 2 sons, Chris (Chauntelle) Boot of Portage, Kevin (Tonya) Boot of Portage; 11 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Charles Randall of Kalamazoo, Harvey (Carol) Randall of Charlotte, Jerry (June) Randall of Parchment; sister-in-law, Helga Randall of Colorado Springs, Co. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Randall. Friends are being received Wednesday from 5-8 pm with a rosary at 7pm at the Redmond Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:30 am at St. Monica Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Larry Farrell, Celebrant.
