Walter A. Mullin of Schoolcraft passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center. Walter was born April 2, 1929 in Chicago, IL the son of William and Mary (Furlong) Mullin. Walter served in the United States Army from 1951-1952. He was formerly employed for Orin B. Hayes prior to his ownership of Mullin's Auto Service, he was a former Schoolcraft Village Trustee and a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Nov. 12, 1955 in Kalamazoo, Walter was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth Roodbergen who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, Edward (Beverly) Mullin of Mattawan, James Mullin of Marcellus, Paul Mullin of Scotts, Steven (Emily) Mullin of Mendon; 2 daughters, Christine Mullin of Schoolcraft, Marian (James) Stewart of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers & 1 sister. Friends are being received at 9:30 to 10:30, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at St. Monica Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am with Rev. Fr. Robert Consani, Celebrant. A luncheon will follow at 11:30 am prior to burial. Interment will be in Schoolcraft Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kairos Dwelling or Rose Arbor Hospice.
