Stephen Lawrence Hill

Stephen L. Hill of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home, Residential Opportunities (ROI)-Litchfield House.  Stephen was born May 13, 1967 in Kalamazoo the son of Thomas and Shirley (Kondratek) Hill.  Steve was a loving son, brother and uncle. He made friends easily.  He had a wonderful sense of humor; he loved music, playing pool, weight lifting, traveling and being with family where he was always the life of the party.  Steve was a Special Olympian for many years.  In 2003 he traveled to Ireland and competed at the International Olympics in the power lifting event.  He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, a bowling league and he worked at MRC and KSS Enterprises.  Steve touched many hearts; he was truly a blessing. Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Shirley Hill of Kalamazoo; brother, Tom (Pat) Hill of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters, Holly (Greg) Daggett of South Haven and Terry (Bill) Dawson of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. Friends are being received Monday April 21, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11 am at St. Monica Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Robert Consani, Celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to ROI-Litchfield House, Hospice of South West Michigan or Special Olympics Area 16.  www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
