Joseph W. Colby of Kalamazoo passed away Friday February 1, 2014 at Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan. Joseph was born April 25, 1925 in Shiawassee Township, MI the son of Roy and Ruth Colby. He received his bachelors degree from Michigan State University in Civil Engineering and operated a land surveying company. He was united in marriage to the former Nancy A. Kelly who preceded in him in death. Surviving are a son, Joseph W. Colby, Jr. of Kalamazoo; daughter, Sherry Colby of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers. Private family services will be held.
