Robert John Mainardi

Robert J. Mainardi of Comstock passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Portage, Michigan. Robert was born August 23, 1970 in Downey, California the son of Vincent and Joan (Hanke) Mainardi. He was employed as a delivery driver for Oven Fresh Bakery, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gunstores, U.F.C., and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his friends and family especially his children Surviving are 2 sons, Brandon and Jacob Mainardi of Comstock; sister, Judy Frelin of Kalamazoo; step sister Melissa Surdick of Otsego; 2 step Brothers , Rick (Tina) Surdick of Three Rivers, Dale Surdick of the Phillipines; special friends, Amy Partanen of Comstock, Karen Krajewski of Portage, Brian and Carrie Axe ; Aunt and Uncle Bill and Dee Axe of Kalamazoo, niece Sherra Frelin of Jonesboro, AR. He was preceded in death by step father, who raised him, Leo Surdick , step sister Marjorie Lasly; step brother Lynn Surdick. Friends are being received Friday, January 31, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156.
