Carllyn Ray Compton

Carllyn R. Compton, 69 of Portage passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw. Carllyn was born February 3, 1944 in Paw Paw the son of Carl and Evelyn (Stoughton) Compton. Before retirement he was employed as an electrician for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, helping people and traveling with his Gold Wing motorcycle club. Survivi, Carl was a very giving person to family, friends and strangers. Surving are 2 daughters, Carla (Tim) Skinner of Edmore, Michelle (Dan) McNees of Portage; 3 brothers, Ron Compton of Decatur, Floyd Compton of Kalamazoo, Jim Compton of California; sister, Elsie Hose of Texas, Mickey Ritzema of Paw Paw; 7 grandchildren, Travis, Zack, Ashleigh, Natosha, Amber, Lucis, LeAnne; 3 Great-grandchildren, Randy, Alitha, Emma; former wife, Marion Compton. He was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Ray Compton in 1999 and a brother, Gerald Compton. Friends are being received Tuesday February 4, 2014 from 11am to 1 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S.
