Walter Vincent Hamilton, Jr.

Walter Vincent Hamilton, Jr. of Portage passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center. Walter was born September 7, 1930 in Pittsburg, PA the son of Walter and Catherine (Maybie) Hamilton. He attended Youngstown State University. He retired as a millwright for General Motors. Walter was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. On January 15, 1951 in Cumberland, MD Walter was united in marriage to the former Ruth Jenkins who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, James Hamilton of Delaware, OH, Walter (Sharon) Hamilton, III of Kalamazoo; John (Elizabeth) Hamilton of Delaware, OH; Scott Hamilton of Hood River, OR; daughter, Judith (Greg) Spear of Portland, OR; 2 grandchildren, Julia Ruth Hamilton and Walter Vincent Hamilton, IV. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, William, Jack and Lawrence Hamilton. Memorial Contributions may be made to your local Humane Society. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
