Larry Russell Westphal

Larry R. Westphal of Parchment, passed away Thursday December 12, 2013 at home. Larry was born June 7, 1944 in Three Rivers the son of Russell and Jeanne (Herron) Westphal. He was a machinist for General Motors before retirement. Larry was a member of the U.A.W., he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling. On August 15, 2009 in Luna Pier, MI Larry was united in marriage to the former Renoma "Liz" {Brooks} Boyer who survives. Also surviving are a son, Todd (Nikki) Westphal of East Lansing; daughter, Tammy Westphal of Portage; 3 stepsons, Alan (Julie) Boyer of Lawrence, Carl Boyer of Gobles, Daniel (Jessica) Boyer of Bloomingdale; brother, Gordon Westphal of Osciola, IN; sister, Mary (Ron) Patterson of Three Rivers; 2 granddaughters; 11 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Hand. Friends are being received Monday from 4-7 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156, where services will be held Tuesday at 1 pm with Rev. Benjamin J. Schaefer, officiant. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
