August L. Senne of Comstock Twp., passed away Sunday, November 11, 2013 at Borgess Gardens. August was born August 16, 1922 in Kalamazoo the son of Charles and Pearl Senne. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and was WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. flying bombers. He received the Purple Heart being wounded in action. He was a survivor of the sinking of the HMT Rhona on Nov. 26, 1943. He was a member of Plumbers Local #357 and a founding member of the Kellogg Forrest. He retired from Wheeler Blaney Plumbing. On August 24, 1943 in Kalamazoo, August was united in marriage to the former Louise Mcomber who preceded him in death on July 11, 1983. Surviving are a daughter, Christine (Ben) Tanis of Parchment; 4 grandchildren, Monica (Matt) Wall, Catherine (Lukas) Pederson, Holly (Corey) Henderson, Heather (Robb) Humphreys; 7 great-grandchildren, Davis, Dallas, Aiden, River, Quinten, Kai and and one expected . He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Lyle Senne; 2 sisters, Gene Rinehart and Velma Wellenkamp. Friends are being received Saturday, 10 to 11 AM at the Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East "G" Ave. Parchment, MI 49004, (269) 349-7735, where services will be held at 11 AM, with Rev.
