Anna May Burkett

Anna M. Burkett, 86 of Kalamazoo, passed away October 24, 2013 at Borgess Gardens. Anna was born October 24, 1927 in Paw Paw the daughter of Ruben and Edith (Potter) Clugston. She was a member of the Cross Community Church of the Nazarene since 1950. She was a Waitress and worked for Carl Tarnow’s Restaurant and Catering and Old Country Buffett. On October 1, 1949 in Kalamazoo, Anna was united in marriage to Gordon Burkett, Sr. for 64 years. Also surviving are 2 sons, Gordon (Minnie) Burkett, Jr. of Mendon., Edward J. Burkett of Kalamazoo; 2 daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Meadows of St. Louis, MO/Kalamazoo, Dianna (James) Devisser of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin in 2009 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Friends are being received Friday from 5-7 PM at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156. Services will be Saturday at 11 AM at the Cross Church of the Nazarene, Kalamazoo. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
