George M. Keller of Comstock Twp. passed away Tuesday October 22, 2013 at home. George was born February 17, 1921 in Buffalo, NY the son of George and Marcy (Goldschmidt) Keller. He was a U.S. Army veteran in WW II serving in Normandy where he relieved 2 battle stars and the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. George received his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and his master’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He taught at Star Point Central High School and Canisius College. On January 29, 1944 in Buffalo, NY George was united in marriage to the former Elise M. Greff, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James (Andrea) Keller of Comstock; daughter Madeleine (Donald) Schram of Buffalo, NY; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Schram, Paul Keller, Stephen Keller; 2 great-grandchildren, Elise Edith Keller and Evan Donald Coffta. He was preceded in death by a son, George P. Keller in 1959 and a sister, Helen Quiel in 1994. Friends will be received Sunday 5-8 PM at the Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East “G” Ave. Parchment, MI 49004, (269) 349-7735. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. James O’Leary, Celebrant. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
