Raymond George Yuknavage

Raymond G. Yuknavage, 93 of Almena, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Alamo Nursing Home. Raymond was born June 8, 1920 in Sterling, CO the son of Zigmond and Tillie (Adomotis) Yuknavage. Raymond was an officer in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He received a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. He was employed as a Hydraulic Engineer for Parker Hannifin before retiring. On August 3, 1956 in Angola, IN Raymond was united in marriage to the former Katie L. Thorton who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Daniel (Diane Zak) Yuknavage of Huntington Beach, CA, George Yuknavage of Gobles; 1 daughter Kathy (Ted Parker) Yuknavage of Saipan; 2 sisters, Jean Fry of Punta Gorda, FL, Luille Nolan of Ypsilanti, and deceased sister, Aldona Stephenson. and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday 10:30 AM at St. Augustine Cathedral with Rev. Fr. Daniel Hyman, Celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
