Roberto Perez of Kalamazoo passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center. Roberto was born January 7, 1953 in San Antonio, TX the son of Noe and Leonor (Moreno) Perez, Sr. Roberto graduated from Decatur High School in 1972 and from Davenport University with a degree in business. He retired as an administrator from AT&T. He enjoyed computers, cooking, especially Mexican food, music, dancing, gardening, science fiction, and especially loved automobiles and trucks. Surviving are his mother, Leonor Perez of California; 5 sisters, Rose Perez of Portage, Vicky Parker of Bangor, Carmen Odle of Vicksburg, Olga Knapp of Plainwell, Mary Lou Perez of California; 2 brothers, Richard A. Hamelton and Ernesto A. Perez, both of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews especially, Lucinda (Jesse) Wyman of Fennville; special friends, Donald J. Manthei of Albion, Olivia Jones of Savannah, GA, Victoria Mansberger of Baton Rouge, LA, Alania Manthei of Savannah, GA, Opral Jackson of Kalamazoo, Jory Grant of Portage, Barbara Martin of Kalamazoo, Erika Mutz of Paw Paw, Betty Munez of Florida, Katie Helton of Portage, Yvette Parsons of Kalamazoo and too many more to mention and his Chihuahua, Tipper. Friends are being received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Thursday 1-3 PM at the Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156. Where services will be held Thursday at 3 PM with Pastor George Pace, of the Victory Worship Center, Kalamazoo, Officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
