Phyllis Elaine Shoemaker

Phyllis Elaine Shoemaker of Cooper Township, passed away Saturday September 14, 2013 at Metro Health in Grand Rapids. Phyllis was born February 1, 1928 in Holland, MI the daughter of Morris and Janette (Hoffman) VanderHaar. She was a member of Haven Reformed Church. In 1946 in Holland, Phyllis was united in marriage to Alden Shoemaker who preceded her in death on August 17, 1987. Surviving are a son, Timothy (Cindy) Shoemaker of Grand Rapids; brother, Maurice (Nancy) VanderHaar of Atlanta, GA; sister, Ruth Ann Smith of Dewitt; 3 grandchildren, AJ, Christian and Alison Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Clare Shoemaker on April 22, 2009 and a brother Paul VanderHaar. Friends are being received Wednesday 11 AM to 1 PM at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East “G” Ave. Parchment, MI 49004, (269) 349-7735, where services will be held at 1 PM.
