John Vaughn, Sr.

Mr. John G. Vaughn, Sr. passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his family home embraced by the love and comfort of his family. He was born June 15, 1949 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Norma Jean (St. Arnold) and Alvie Garner Vaughn. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, John became a tool and die maker/machinist for General Motors Corporation. He is survived by sons John G. Vaughn, Jr. and James E. Vaughn of Leonidas, Jesse A. (Nora) Vaughn of Athens, and Jacob C. Vaughn of Mendon, MI; three grandchildren, Taylor, Rachael, and Raelee; siblings Gary (Kit) Vaughn of Texas, Barb (Mike) Ashby of Portage, MI, and Pat (Steve) Schmidt of South Bend, IN; special friend Ada Langerak, and her daughters Sandra Langerak and Michelle Price and granddaughters Melanie and Emily Price. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews as well as his two beloved dogs Ticker and Tobey. John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Vaughn. There will be no visitation a graveside service will take place at Dutton Cemetery in Mendon Township on August 4th at 3pm.
