Tom Arthur Taube

Mr. Tom A. Taube, age 79, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in Galesburg, MI. He was born April 25, 1934 in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of Chester A. and Leona F. (Miller) Taube. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army. He was employed for many years in broadcast communications, most notably as sports director at WKZO-TV, now WWMT, in Kalamazoo. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School and Western Michigan University. He was active in his fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi at WMU. On September 10, 1960, he married Josephine Duran, who survives. Also surviving are their daughters, Kaely Taube of Kalamazoo and Kimberly (Nick) Turco of Novi, MI; granddaughter Krystal Taube of Redford, MI, grandsons Nicholas Turco of Livonia, MI, and Nathan Turco of Hermosa Beach, CA; special cousins Marie (Jim) Hufhand of Sebring, FL, Richard (Jeanne) Ueck of Plainwell, MI, Jan (Kelly) Pletcher of Elkhart, IN, and Mark Bonsell also of Elkhart; brother-in-law David (Audrey) Duran of Modesto, CA, and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 2:30PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., in Kalamazoo, Rev. Msgr. Michael Hazard officiating.
