James E. Sell of Parchment, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center. James was born March 15, 1931 in Muskegon Heights, the son of Herman and Eleanor (LeBoeuf) Sell. James was a graduate of Ferris State University School of Pharmacology. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Jim was co-owner of Oakland Pharmacy from 1961-1974. He then moved on to the Borgess Hospital Pharmacy from which he retired after 25 years of service. Jim was a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a teacher and mentor to his family and many others in his lifetime. He was a quiet man who asked for nothing and provided for all. His pastimes included vacations with family, fishing, camping, bike riding, and sitting for his beloved grand dogs. He had a sense of humor and loved laughing at family get-togethers. His giggle will never be forgotten. Heaven is a happier place with Dad being there. On July 26, 1958 in Muskegon, James was united in marriage to the former Ann J. Pelfresne who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Brian (Amy) Sell of Parchment, Craig (Yalonda) Sell of Marshall, Jim (Betsy) Sell of Kalamazoo, and John Sell of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Pamela (Joshua) Weiner of Kalamazoo, and Lisa Ripley of Portage; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jane Snyder of Florida and Alice Goodrich of Muskegon; several nieces & nephews; and his 5 loving dogs, Jake, Daisy, Bella, Charlie, & Delilah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margie Sell, and his dog Sammy. Friends will be recieved Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7:30PM at Parchment-Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G Ave. Parchment, MI 49004, (269)349-7735. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 3 at 10:30AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 East G Ave., Parchment, Fr. James O'Leary, celebrant. A luncheon will be served immediately following Mass, with interment to follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2PM.
