Lorraine Rose Zidell

Mrs. Lorraine R. Zidell passed away Thursday, May 09, 2013 at Borgess Gardens, Kalamazoo. Lorraine was born August 9, 1924 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Leon and Helen (Ottney) Robarge. Lorraine attended school at St. Augustine and was a lifetime member of St. Augustine Cathedral. She retired after 51 years from the Quality Assurance Dept. at Sutherland Paper Company which later became James River Paper Company. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, knitting quilts, flower gardening and ceramics. In December, 1970 in Kalamazoo, Lorraine was united in marriage to Victor R. Zidell, who survives. Also surviving are 2 step-sons: Vaughn Zidell of Kalamazoo and Robert (Margie) Zidell of New York; step-daughter, Vicki Zidell of Lavonia; 2 neices, Susan Robarge, Lynn Carter; and nephew Michael Robarge. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Richard, Bud and Leo Robarge. Friends will be received Sunday, May 12 from 3-5PM with the Rosary at 4:30PM at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008, (269) 343-6156. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10AM at St. Augustine Cathedral, 542 W. Michigan, Kalamazoo, Msgr.
