Martine Elizabeth Stoops

Martine Elizabeth Stoops passed away Wednesday evening, April 24, 2013 at Borgess Gardens in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born February 2, 1925 in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of J. Martin and Anna Mae (Sims) O'Bryan. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Stoops on March 22, 1999. Martine is survived by their children Robert D. (Denise) Stoops of Parchment, Jane A. Stoops of Bear Lake, MI, James E. (Carol) Stoops of Kalamazoo, and Susan M. (Mel) Tolin of Onekama, MI; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; brother George E. (Mamie) O'Bryan of Portage and sister Donna M. (Ronald) Holmes of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6-8PM with a prayer service at 7PM at the Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G Ave., 269-349-7735, and again on Tuesday, April 30 for one hour prior to Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 East G Ave., Parchment, Fr. James O'Leary celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Borgess Gardens Activity Fund.
