Elizabeth Crookston

Mrs. Elizbeth Crookston passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Kalamazoo. She was born March 23, 1918 in Krebs, OK, the daughter of Rosario and Rose (Pietravelle) Finamore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Crookston in 1985. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Susan Foster and Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Budd, two sons-in-law, Jack Budd and Jerry Matecun, her grandson, John Matecun, and several brothers and sisters. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Sally Matecun of Grand Rapids, Nancy (Frank) Caro of Kalamazoo, Thomas (Kathy) Crookston of Duluth, GA, Margaret (Dennis) Leiber of Grand Rapids, John (Geri) Crookston of Delton, Joan (Nick) Medina of Oakland, CA, A. J. (Sue) Crookston of Kalamazoo, Elizabeth "Beth" (Mike) King of Chandler, AZ, and Maureen (Rick) Ives of Kalamazoo; 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Michael Foster of Richland; sister Lou Jones of Chula Vista, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6-8PM at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G Ave., with a Rosary at 7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 11 at 10:30AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 939 Charlotte, Kalamazoo, Fr. David Grondz celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Hospice Care of SW MI.
