Argentina H. Elizondo

Argentina H. Elizondo, of Portage, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Kalamazoo, MI. Argentina was born December 18, 1924 in San Antonio, TX, the daughter of Antonio and Luz (Vela) Hernandez. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. She was employed by the Federal Center in Battle Creek, MI for many years. She volunteered at and was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Argentina was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, on October 22, 1976, and by sisters Aurelia Giron and Blanche Rodriguez. She is survived by her children, Nancy S. (Walter) Bower of Portage, Cindy K. (Michael) Waletzko of Brentwood, TN, and Norma E. (Tom) Huczek of Bel Air, MD; four grandchildren, David W. Kozin, Natalie Hanemann, Jason P. Huczek and Anthony R. Huczek; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Ruiz of Kansas City, MO, Lucy Shaw and Gloria Garza, both of San Antonio, TX, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received Monday, March 25, 2013 from 6-8PM at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge, Kalamazoo 269-343-6156, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, March 26 at 10:30AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 534 W. Kilgore, Kalamazoo, Fr. Lawrence Farrell celebrant. San Antonio visitation Thursday, March, 28, 2013 from 12Noon to 1:30PM CDT at Olinger-Saenz Funeral Home, 6614 S. Flores St., San Antonio, TX 78214 1-800-247-4137. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, at 2:30PM CDT.
