Mr. Charles Benson Guenther passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Battle Creek. He was born September 25, 1931 in Crystal Falls, MI, the son of Charles F. and Annette M. (Benson) Guenther. Having been born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, he always felt is was "God's Country." Charles was proud of his service as a US Marine and his 42 years as a journeyman printer at the Kalamazoo Gazette. He was a quiet but loving man; an avid coin collector; he dearly loved to gamble; was a good neighbor, and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Margene; four daughters: Suann (Gordon) Squires, Janae (Martin) Niecko, Pamala (Thomas) Hamilton, and Amy (Daniel) Wytko; grandchildren Jennifer Squires, Stuart (Stephanie) Niecko, Stefen Niecko, Aaron (Michele) Hamilton, Jason Hamilton, and Madison, Camille, and Jacob Dorman; great-grandchildren McKenzie Hamilton and Ashlyn Niecko; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 East G Ave., Parchment, Fr. Stanley Witek celebrant. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
